Mom's Day

I got this off a friend's blog and I love it. It is so true...there are hard times but I would never change anything! Happy Mother's Day!

Before I was a Mom
I never tripped over toys or forgot words to a lullaby.
I didn't worry whether or not my plants were poisonous.
I never thought about immunizations.
Before I was a Mom - I had never been puked on.
Pooped on.
Chewed on.
Peed on.
I had complete control of my mind and my thoughts.
I slept all night.
Before I was a Mom
I never held down a screaming child so doctors could do tests.
Or give shots.
I never looked into teary eyes and cried.
I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin.
I never sat up late hours at night watching a baby sleep.
Before I was a Mom
I never held a sleeping baby just because I didn't want to
put them down.
I never felt my heart break into a million pieces when I
couldn't stop the hurt.
I never knew that something so small could affect my life so
much.
I never knew that I could love someone so much.
I never knew I would love being a Mom.

Before I was a Mom -
I didn't know the feeling of having my heart outside my body.
I didn't know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby.
I didn't know that bond between a mother and her child.
I didn't know that something so small could make me feel so
important and happy.

Before I was a Mom -
I had never gotten up in the middle of the night every
10 minutes to make sure all was okay.
I had never known the warmth, the joy, the love, the heartache,
the wonderment or the satisfaction of being a Mom.
I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much, before I was a
Mom.

Update on N

Well N saw the ENT today. On June 29th he will be having his first surgery. He will have his tonsils and adenoids taken out. Plus he will most likely have a tube put into the left ear. The dr said that the ear was still gross looking and lots of pus. So she will drain it while he is under and then most likely put in a short term tube to keep it drained. (Can't do much else and she is worried about leaving it longer b/c of hearing lose.) Most likely it happened b/c of all the other tonsil/adenoid things going on. He had to have a camera put down his nose (which he did not like). His adenoids are swollen to 70%. Meaning they are much too large for his age. They are surprised he is not snoring more. Then his tonsils look gross too. He has pretty much had tonsillitises and we didn't even know it. The reason he has had so many colds/allergies (which we are now not sure it was truly allergies) is b/c of the tonsils and adenoids. This should help with the colds/allergies, purpleness under his eyes, sleeping in (maybe), and nose picking will be gone. Plus it might help with coughing (asthma) and never know might help some with some speech aspects (but most likely won't notice it).

So for now until then we will be only on tylenol and augementant (antiobiotic so his ear won't hurt him until then). Then afterwards we will have some pain meds and pushing liquids. He doesn't like the idea that he doesn't get to ride his scooter for a week afterwards. :-) He should be all better for his birthday...so am glad about that.

Have a great Tuesday!

Adult Humor

Okay a friend sent this link on a group I am on. I love this! It was a much needed laugh today. Ellie is whiny (think from the ears...which will hopefully be taken care of tomorrow) and Nathan I don't think got enough sleep last night (crying at the drop of a hat). Atleast their friends are over today to play for most of the day. :-)
