Tiredness & N

Ok I am so tired tonight. N has been fighting a cold for just a couple of days but the cough got worse and then I worried about his asthma. So took him to the dr yesterday instead of school. Come to find out his asthma is bugging him a tiny bit but he has the croup on top of it. So yesterday starting at about 6pm he had to take his machine every 4 hours with albuetrol (so guess who was setting her alarm), plus he has a cough med for night to help him get some sleep and then a one time med for the croup. Last night he seemed to be sleeping well atleast when I would be in there. Then both kids slept until 7:15am this morning!!! That is a record in this household. LOL And at first it seemed like he had gotten plenty of sleep. But then about an hour later he started getting the dark circles under his eyes plus a little bit of redness. So here is hoping tonight is better now that we have been doing meds for a full 24 hrs now. Tonight I luckily only have to do it every 6 hrs. But then if I do that then that is midnight and 6am...so I might do midnight and then 4am so he will sleep some extra and not want to get up at 6am when I do the meds...we shall see how it goes.

I am really looking forward to the weekend since I don't have to work Saturday or Sunday just Friday night until midnight. This way I get to take a nap with the kids and catch up on sleep. Plus we as a family get the whole weekend together!

Have a great end of the week!

Where does time go???

Ok I would like to know where the time goes by so fast some days! I feel like I never get done everything I want to get done. I am just glad I get to stay home all evening/night after picking up N from preschool....which is in a few minutes. Plus I finally get to watch my favorite show CSI!!! I missed it last week b/c I was working. Monday and Thursday nights I love to watch tv. Lately just have not gotten that chance. This week I will be home for Monday but not for Thursday. :-( Oh well atleast I get Saturday and Sunday home all day to be with my family and finish up Christmas projects.

Have a great Monday!

Christmas Kids Party & Santa

Well last night we went to M's work Children's Christmas party. We went last year but E couldn't do much. Anyways, we always get there right when they open, other wise there are tons of people by the end of the night. We usually only stay an hour. We went straight to the Santa Claus line and got in fast. N walked right up and gave Santa a hug and then sat on his lap and told him what he wanted. E would sit next to him on my leg but wouldn't touch him or talk to him. The picture we got didn't turn out the greatest (poloraid) but hey it's a picture. Anyways, the kids had fun playing the games. N loved all the bounce houses, huge slides, and climbing stuff. E liked playing the games like toss the ball and such. Neither one wanted to leave but they didn't throw fits about it so that was nice.

We figured out that we missed the Kuna santa this year. It was the weekend that M was gone. So we didn't get a picture with the Santa we always have since the yr N was born. :-( So we shall see if we find another Santa that we like to have their pictures taken with.

It's fun to hear N and E talk about Christmas, giving, sharing and baby Jesus. It is all a mixture of the fun.

N is loving the tree but not happy that mommy is not tall enough to stick the star on. But it will be on with all the decorations by Sunday...atleast that is the goal.

Stay warm everyone!

Ear & Sleep Update

Well yesterday we went and saw the ENT here that I love! I am so glad that we found her thru recommendations from friends. Like I was telling my sister yesterday we have got some awesome drs here and I am so thankful for that! Anyways, E's tubes are looking like they will most likely be gone by the beginning of summer. So, we don't have to go back until then unless she starts complaining about her ears. Then she said it's great that we went to the speech therapist and had E tested. Everything looks great.

I then asked her about N and his always having dark circles under his eyes no matter what time he goes to bed and other things. Plus back in June his regular dr said his aenoids were a tadbit swollen and that we should watch him and see if it's allergies or what. Well now that it is winter it can't be allergies. Plus it seems to gradually be getting worse. We have always noticed that his has an irregular breathing pattern when he sleeps but has never snored loudly. Anyways, she looked at his tonsils really quick and they are a +2/+3. So not too bad but need to have him checked out. He has an appt on the 15th and we shall go from there. Hopefully we shall find a way to get him sleeping better so there are no dark circles and no grumpiness from tiredness.

We got our Christmas tree in the mail yesterday and started putting it together. Will finish today. Everyone is excited but N is especially. Yesterday while we were out at the dr appt I said ok time to go home and see if the tree got there yet. He got all excited and said yea a Christmas tree then time for presents. :-) I told him um no we put the presents under the tree and then on Christmas day we open presents. He thought for a minute and said ohhh sorry mommy. LOL I don't think we will put very many gifts under the tree though...don't want to be rewrapping once again. :-)

Weekend Fun

Well we are home for the weekend kids and I by ourselves. M took off yesterday for the mountains with some friends. Yesterday afternoon during E napping and N at school I wrapped the christmas presents I had laying around hidden since our tree will be here Monday (got a fake w/multi colored light finally). Anyways, the kids and I talked about how we don't touch them until Christmas. Then last night the kids and I watched Polar Express before bed. They loved it again this year.

Well come this morning and N wakes me up with something about the dog. Well he had of course woken up his sister at some point too. Well come out to the living room and N is telling me there is no black helicopter (something Santa is bringing him) to find the presents have mostly been torn open. I can guess that N was the instigator since E does not totally understand everything. So into time out and I am telling them maybe I need to take all the presents back to the store! Then N says where did the superman go (from Aunt L)...ugh! So here is guessing that we will need to keep the presents up on top of the entertainment center again (just like last year)...thought N was old enough this year. E could care less. So tonight I will spend it rewrapping everything.

So here is for a good rest of the weekend. The kids and I are hoping to get out all the Christmas decorations except for the tree stuff. So that will be nice.

Have a good weekend.

TN Trip

Hi Everyone! Been a long time since posting. A lot has happened. We went on our TN trip and got back this last week. Now this weekend M is gone up at the mountains with some other guys relaxing and playing computer games. He will be back Sunday evening.

Trip to TN was fun once we got there. We had a not fun trip on the way out just b/c they turned our first plane around for landing gear stuck...could have kept going (since they took the plane there anyways) and saved tons of people lots of hassle!!! Anyways, Delta wouldn't let us take a plane the next day on a different airline even though the people at the beginning of the line (stood in line for almost 2 hours to get rerouted...while M got bags from the carousel) were being routed to different airlines b/c Delta didn't have openings. Anyways, by the time we got up there they had opened a flight to Salt Lake for a majority of people and it was leaving in 30 minutes. So took them forever to get our flights straightened out. We were going to Salt Lake City (30 min layover), going to Atlanta (40 min layover) and then on to Nashville (arriving at 10:15p their time). Well lets just say nothing worked out right. First flight delayed by 15 minutes...ran for the next flight to find out it was delayed. We were delayed for an hour. Plus our seats got messed up on that flight!!! Got to Atlanta 10 min before the next flight. Thought ok it's just 4 gates down we can make it. Well got to the gate and it was not there. Went back and talked to the guy at the gate we came in. To be told we would have to take the 7:45am flight. NOT HAPPY!!! Then we went back out thru security to see if we could get a rental (M had his gps and it was only like a 3.5 hour trip). No rentals available...guess there were tons of problems at the Atlanta airport that day. So go to the front desk deciding they need to do something!!! Well the guy there was the first nice guy we got all day. He tried hard to get us a hotel room but nothing. Then his manager came over and was doing something. Got us onto the 7:45am flight and handed us two blankets and three bags (toothbrush, comb, etc). Didn't even think about not getting 4 blankets b/c Ellie was crying and tired at this point. N was doing good except for all he carried about was making sure we were going to see Nana and Papa. So we head back to the security to go thru to find out that we have to wait another 30 min b/c it is not midnight and our plane leaves in the morning. Only night flight people are allowed before midnight. Of course no seats available and except for in a little restaurant so get N something to drink and eat...E is asleep by this time. So come midnight we go thru with E screaming b/c we had to wake her up. Only one other person going thru at the time. Go find our gate (it's down some stairs) and get all settled in (it was a nice quiet place and had the kids settled down and hoping they would fall asleep) and someone coming in from a flight sets the alarm off on the door. Finally somone comes to turn it off (20 min later) and we are told that we are not allowed down there b/c of security (no signs anywhere). Matt made a comment and then we headed back upstairs. Found a spot...but not really comfortable and noise all around from workers working on the airport. Another lady showed up from the same flight as us and we got to talking after the kids finally fell asleep. She had gotten to the gate and at the time it had said the flight was leaving at 10:10p and it was 10p and the plane was gone. So Delta took off earlier then they said they would. Not happy. Well come morning (long time) and we finally get on the plane with about 7 other people that were stranded there too. Just to be delayed 20 min more. We finally made it to Nashville and the kids were so happy to see Papa and Nana. So were we!

Had a great time in TN with Aunt, Papa and Nana. The kids were spoiled. M and I were too b/c we got to sleep some. :-) Thanks Papa for being an early riser. I will have to send out pictures to everyone from the trip since there are many good ones.

Our trip was much better (flew Northwest). We got delayed in Minneapolis but not badly and we got in at 12:30 am instead of 11:30pm. Then got our bags to find out mine got left in Minneapolis but they would deliver it to the house by evening that day. So didn't mind since I didn't have to come back to the airport. So off we go to find our car. Find it and get everyone loaded up and stuff in. Head home. Got home, unloaded, and kids into pjs and then into bed. We were in bed by 2:30am.

We are glad to be home safely and M says we aren't flying with kids until they are 10. :-P

Can't believe it's Friday!!!

Ok it's hard to believe that it is Friday right now. This week went by fast!!! It's been a wild week. :-) Let's see at the beginning N finally wrote his name correctly (with a bunch of practicing and erasing...loves the erase) so he got the remote control Lightning McQueen that we have been holding onto. I have already made a scrapbook page for it (minus the title) and wanted to post a picture of it but just have not had the time. Maybe tonight...we shall see.

Then we got E a flu shot on Tuesday and she did very well! Cried for like 15 secs and then that was it. Went and voted after dropping N off at school...wasn't bad for me. M went later after dinner (6:30pm) and did not get back until 8pm. Crazy!

Weds...can't even remember other then babysitting at the church and work. :-)

Thursday...wake up and N's eye looks a little red...just what I want. Go to parent/teacher conference at the private preschool and went very well. Come to find out that N isn't writing his name like we know he can. :-) Teacher was very excited about how much N is communicating and using words. Plus when he gets frustrated or doesn't know he goes and asks for help instead of pouting or hiding! yea!
Ran to Old Navy afterwards and found a new light weight jacket for N on clearance (all clearance was 50% off) for lik $2.50! Then a shirt for E, shirt for N, and a purse for S and all of it totally $10. I loved it!!! :-)
Then back for home and hanging out and taking naps. Even S took a nap. Oh also did figure out that N had pink eye!!! Luckily don't have to take him in to the dr just call and the nurse asks some questions and then calls in the prescription. Now giving N eye drops is another situation. :-( Got them in though.
5pm meet M at elementary school for that parent/teacher conference. Went very well! Teacher was surprised to hear that N can write his name. :-) Speech teacher is working on pronouns (for sentences about himself) and S sounds with him. Other then that he is doing great there! He interacts, uses his words, and loves it there and they love him.
Then S on to work and M back to the house with the kids for dinner and baths and bedtime. Guess that didn't go as smoothly as M would have liked. But N took his eye drops very well and just told M that he didn't like it. :-)

Friday - N took his eye medicine with a little bit of arguing about how he doesn't like it but he did it. Then grocery shopping this morning...now I remember why I try not to with two kids! LOL Finally home and unloading and doing some "errands" around the house.

Weekend - plan is S has to work tomorrow opening shift and then the rest of the weekend will be spent doing laundry and packing. Plus getting Christmas stuff down from the attic so we don't have to do it when we get back.

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!!! It sure got cold here this week plus we are to get more rain and snow in the mountains.

Fun times!

The first is not such a fun time. N and S are going this morning to get flu shots. Dr offices are right next door to each other. So far can't find a vaccine for E. M is getting his at work today (free). Wanted to get them all done atleast a week before we left for TN just in case someone has a reaction. E might have to wait until we get back...we shall see.

The second is that just bought tickets online for the Trans-Siberian Orchestra for Dec 8. Got the okay from the babysitter last night that she could watch the kids. So went on this morning and got seats. It should be fun! I love christmas shows an since this is a group that we have not seen before but always has interested me it should be tons of fun!

Have a good day!

Things to think about

Well yesterday and today I have been watching E a little closer. I noticed all of a sudden yesterday while I was drawing with her on the magna doodle that I am thinking she might be left handed. She had hold the pen very well with her left hand but I tried to hand it to her right hand and she didn't know what to do with it. She thought it was a game and funny. It will be fun and interesting if she is a lefty. We'll wait a little longer before totally deciding but you never know.

N went to the firestation with M on his field trip. He loved it. M said he got a little wild when another little boy did too but hey that's to be expected some of the time. But do have to say we wonder if all of a sudden we are going thru the terrible two's or something with him that we missed when he was two. There are days that I wonder if he even has ears (this is one of them), but then I know that this week he is super tired! Atleast this morning he slept until 6am. :-)

It always surprises me when going to the store how many people stop us and say "I just have to tell you how cute your kids are." I know they are cute and everything but it startles me that so many people think they are too.

Have a great Thursday evening! It's cold here and sprinkling on and off.

Halloween Pictures

Well last night was lots of fun! Nathan loved it! He wanted to keep going and going to all the houses. Ellie on the other hand was not too sure of it all. She hated her treat basket b/c it looks like a jack-o-lantern. She likes pumpkins but not if they are carved. LOL M carried her most of the way. It was fun to watch them. N zonked out 5 minutes after getting to bed...took a little longer for E.

Today they are playing in fireman costumes that I found at Target this morning for 50% off. I was trying to find costumes for dressing up. These were the only "simple" ones. They are having fun in them though and that is what counts! Today N gets to go to the fire station for a field trip with his preschool class. Siblings aren't allowed to go this year (too many of them), so M is coming home and taking N. E will stay home and take a nap and I will hopefully get some things done since I have to work tonight.

Did it!!!

Ok I finished the challenge that I posted about a few days ago. I just the very last page and posted it a few minutes ago. Now to see who wins the drawing for the grand prize! I am just so glad that I got scrapping again! Now to keep going! :-) For the next couple of days I need to work on stuff for the charity auction that the group Idahoscrappers does. I can't go this year and I am a little bummed. I looked at the calendar wrong and was thinking it was the weekend before we left for TN but it's not. It's next weekend (4th). I have to work that night at work and hadn't planned on it money wise so not going. That's ok. I will send some auction items with someone and send some $ to give for the raffle and maybe bid on one or two items. Then I will atleast given my $ this year again.

Have a wonderful Halloween! (ours is going to be cold tonight...should make it interesting with fairy wings)

Time Change is not good here!

Ok we are not liking the time change around here! As most know N is an early riser to begin with. We were to the point where he would sleep until about 6:30 and sometimes a little later. Not anymore! Yesterday it was 5:30 and this morning it was 4:45!!!! I had to tell him this morning that it was the middle of the night and too early! Finally got him back into bed (boy is he stubborn) and he was quiet until about 6am and then it was up. Of course in the course of things he always has to wake up little sister to have someone to play with after he realizes that everyone else is still sleeping. I am thinking that there will be a nap today at about 10am so that N atleast gets some sleep before tonight since I can't keep him home from school. :-)

Pumpkin Time

Good morning! Well here are the finished projects from last night. Mostly M & S did all the work. N did help pick out his face. He drew a "skeleton" face on the paper and S tried her hardest to copy it. N likes it so that is what counts. :-) E was afraid of the pumpkins once they were carved but she was okay once she saw N and M holding theirs.

Hope everyone has a Happy Halloween! The kids are excited...well atleast N is b/c he knows what is going on...not sure if E totally understands as of yet.

What S is up to lately...

Well I thought I would post what I have been doing lately. I have finally been scrapbooking! I entered this challenge where we do 31 layouts in the month of October. If they are all done (each day is a different challenge on how to use paper/product/pictures) by midnight of Oct 31 and loaded then you are entered into a drawing for an awesome prize! I have done them all except for one. I just haven't loaded them all. I am hoping to have them loaded all by Monday night and then only have to load one more on Tuesday! I am mostly working with older photos that I have had printed and meaning to put on layouts forever! The challenges helped me get out of my "box" and do some different things that I would never have even thought about. You take a look at them by following this link. There is actually 3 pages worth so keep clicking. I don't think you have to be registered to view them.

Hope everyone has a great weekend! We plan to carve our pumpkins tomorrow night so will post pictures on Saturday evening or Sunday .

Dog tests came back!

Well the blood work came back. Molly dog has a thyroid problem so now is on meds twice a day. Luckily it's not very expensive. :-) She will go back in two weeks for another test to make sure it's the correct dosage of medicine. Then they found something with the liver but nothing to stress about right now...no disease. But will need to test it in two months and see if it has done anything. They did say the thyroid meds should help with her weight distribution, energy level, and not drinking as much water. So we shall see. She has been in a much better mood just the day and half she has been on the other meds for the traction infection.

We did finally get a hold of neighbor so she can watch the dog while we are in TN. Starting to get a little worried b/c now with meds it would cost an extra $7.50 per day. Plus I know she doesn't really like the kennel. So this will be better for everyone all the way around.

The kids are doing better with their colds. Just a tad bit of a cough and still runny noses but not bad. We get to stay at home today except for preschool. So that will be nice. The weather here is definitely turning cold! The mornings we now have frost and we need coats when we go out. It is nice though b/c we have had the sun out every day so far this week.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day!

Dog Update

Well so far it's good news...well in perspective. :-) The dog does have an urinary infection. They also found out that she has tons of cyrstals floating around in there. Good news is that there are no stones as of yet. So she is on a special food and on antibiotics. The blood work will be back tomorrow sometime and we'll get a call about that. But so far the dog is acting happier, so hopefully that is all that is wrong and we caught it early.

Update & Home Again

Here is an updated picture of us all. This was taken while we were surprising M's mom and aunt for their birthday. Sometimes I forget how much the kids are growing until I see a new picture. We had lots of fun visiting and seeing everyone. The kids loved the hotel pool in the morning. We got to see Aunt L before we left town for home.

Now we are home and have sick kids and dog. N has a cold (seems almost over it) and E got sick once today but had a very good nap so we shall see how it goes the rest of the day. M had to come home and work while E took a nap so S could take the dog to the vet. She has not been doing well since picking her up from the kennel yesterday. We are running a urinary tract infection test and also a blood chemistry test (we will get back the results tomorrow). It might be something as simple as urinary tract infection or it could be something as serious as liver problems. We will just have to wait and see. M and S knew we would have to be making decisions about her since she is going on 13 yrs old and getting much slower. Will let everyone know what we find out.

Conversation with N

N: Mommy you have hair on your back.
S: Huh?
N: Points
S: Ohhh you mean my ponytail. Yes Mommy was hot and needed to put up her hair.
N: (thinking for a minute) Doggy has a tail too.
Oh ... the conversations we now have. :-)

Starting Again

Ok this is a test. This will hopefully be a place to update everyone about our life and what is going on around here.
